    I was kidnapped!

    I had a very nice memorable day yesterday. My dear friend Sri told me to meet her at the vivo bus stop as she claims that she didn't have change for taxi fare. Another dearie, Oma claimed that she didn't get the message that we are meeting in vivo and so will be late as stucked in the traffic jam in bugis. Another darling Ummu was to be late as she was working. I had all my doubts when Oma said she was at bugis but I just waited around.

    As the usual nice friend in need, I was waiting at the bus stop for Sri when a white car arrived with music blasting and 3 crazy gals blowing the party poppers loudly out of the car windows at the bus stop in front of vivo. But still I didn't notice as I was looking out for a blue cab. The lady behind me tapped and pointed the crazy gals in white car shouting happy birthday to me. I got in fast and started to scold them. Then the notti devil in the backseat Ummu blindfolded me and here and there threatened me and even poked my eyes.

    I was kidnapped! Yes but soon I found out that we were in sentosa. A change of beach clothes was given to me by sri and ummu and we headed to the beach to find oma waiting with cake. We then played in the water, changed and then headed to the sky lift and luge. They were not aware that I have a phobia for heights (feel like falling head down in open heights). So I shut my eyes tight and hanged on. But I really enjoyed the luge ride. Very nice. But quite short and if you go faster it would be even shorter i guess, though the thrill would be there.

    I ended the day by giving them a farewell card each from myself. I hope they liked it and treasure it as much as I treasure them and their friendship. My life would have been unforgivable dull without you gals. Thank you for all and everything! (P.S But sorry that the evening had to end fast) (P.S.2 dun forget to pass me all the pics!)

    27 years on earth!

    Yes I will be turning 27 years old on 27th dec, tom in this year 2007! Well well then I have to blog right. But another memorable fact about this birthday is that Im still single.

    Nothing much planned for. I want to spend this birthday with my family. Thats the main reason also why I returned back to Singapore after a month in Australia.

    Im going for my massage tom first. Its not a relaxing type. My back has been giving me problem on and off. Just going for this monthly now till I go there. Ladies must really take great care of their back. What u sow is what you will reap later. I hated milk when I was a baby it seems. Thats why my back is very very weak now esp my lower back. Especially during "those times" each month, my cramps are getting better but I feel my back is literally on the verge of breaking. Got to pile up my calcium intake.After massage will be going for dinner with family.

    Everyone is asking me about the wedding preparations. Well Im not gona worry myself with all that until my marriage date. I will just relax. Its been a long time since I really really relaxed. Especially mentally and emotionally.

    Half of my friends are married already. And to nearly all of them married life is way better than courtship. I hope I will say the same. Long distance courtship is really draining man! I couldn't have actually gone through it all without the understanding of my parents, my sister's support, my friends' listening ears and of course Krishna himself.

    In 2003 I remember telling Krishna that I don't believe long distance relationship will work especially with a person like me. He said he can make it work and soon he will make me believe that it work out just fine. That time I only half believed him but now I can't believe that its finally gona be over. But of course a whole new book opens up after marriage right?

    Not forgetting the other half of my friends who are mostly single (and available). I know deep down they want to be committed and to be loved by the someone. Don't worry gals. The best one will always come late. The rest are just lessons. As God would want us to appreciate the best in the most treasuring ways which at times explains the wait.

    Ok advance happy birthday to myself now! Hope my day will be a good one. Hehehe!

    Cravings!

    Hey there

    Just dropped to say that I'm craving for some heavy duty chocolate ice cream sundae! But trying to keep it under control.

    Today I was shopping...oops sorry following a shopper, Oma from 2 plus till nearly 8. For most of the time we were hanging around wisma. Then her hubby joined but window shopping for himself. To top it all I was the one who wanted to go shopping in the first place! Haha.

    But I had a good time. That's the most important thing. Like Oma's hubby, Amin says "Jini, you wouldn't be able to enjoy all this(that this following them around and answering all his questions) in Sydney". So ya I should treasure every moment.

    I bought a sweet pink top at mango, although promised myself not to pile anymore clothes. My wardrobe looks so neat and clear with half of the clothes already packed away. Still not done my paperwork as Im beginning to feel abit lazy.

    Im still thinking about chocolate ice-cream! I must curb it....okie goodnight! Gona sleep it off.

    What am I thinking?

    Its funny how I had the zest to blog every other day in aust. Maybe too much free time. I attended ROM receptions yesterday and today.

    Yesterday one was my friend Maha whom I got to know in SPF induction courses. It was at chevrons and was quite a unique grand event. Apart from the solemnisation ceremony, cake cutting, wine pouring, the love story they also had song dedication by the vasantham star Ebi and professional belly dance performance. It was still going on when I left.

    Today was my ex-colleague, Devi's whom I got to know by a dance performance at SPF. It was at Riverwalk Tandoor. Cozy place, very good food and a manageable sized crowd (relatives and few friends). It was very small event but very nice too. (Wish mine just finish like that with ROM...haha fat hope!)

    Usually when I attend ROM or wedding I just feel the sweet, happy tingling feeling for the couple. Especially when they are pronounced husband and wife. But with only about a month away for my wedding attending these ROMs was like a self-reflection.

    Is my groom happy about getting married to me? Am I happy? How will the feeling be on my wedding eve? On the day itself how will I manage to go through it all? How changed life will be after wedding? How will it be sharing not only accommodation but your whole life and the whole of your life man?!

    Some things you just have to go through it to experience right? Weddings itself is a complete headache to organise. You are not only marrying the guy but you are marrying the whole family, background, traditions, culture, dynamics, family politics, etc. But what matters the most is life after wedding between the 2 of you right. Some things you will only realise after living with each other. You may even pick up each other's characteristics or habits (usually the undesirable ones).

    Everyone of us got bad and good sides. Its just how bad and how good. Whatever goes right or wrong between a couple is due to both of them, rarely by only one of them. Communication is the route to good marriage. Tolerance is the vehicle on that route and love is always the key. Hmm, not bad ah. I can come up with stuff like this. Hehehe. But whatever words I come up with you can never describe with mere words about living with the one who can bring out the best and worst in you.

    Sigh. Im going towards few huge steps in my life. And the funny part is I didn't even dream of all this about 5 years ago(2002, a year after poly). So where will be things for me in 5 years time? OMG!!! I am having a self-reflection in a self-reflection. Its all Devi's fault. She asked me today of how am I feeling (a question that I suppose ask her today).

    Ok I better turn in. If not will have another reflection. Goodnight! Sweetie dreams!

    What am I reading?

    the life audit - handbook for LIFE
    How to make friends, beds, love, tea, money...and the world a better place by Caroline Righton

    This book is full of pointers, tips, and practical advice for you to conquer every part of your life. From brushing your teeth in the correct way , to all the do-hows of household chores and sex, parenting and up till even about death.

    Let me share an extract from the book.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Types of friends
    - Best friends. They are the ones whom you can count with 1 hand. Be thankful if you have more than one as this friendship takes a lot of time, effort and a lot of sharing. Its hard to be close to someone and care about them when you don't know much about them, their lives or their feelings. This friendship does take time - sometimes a lifetime. And with time they become more like family.
    - Mentors. They are the supportive types and they need to be informed and appreciated, however modest they are. They relish any types of your successes and by nature have assumed a responsiblity for your achievements.
    - Strong shoulders. They are usually quite stoic about being the opposite to fair-weather friends. They know their place is in stormy weather when they need to be rock-like to help you get through sadnesses and upsets. They ready with tea and sympathy and know just the rights things to say to put the smile back on your face.
    - Life enhancers. You may have little in common with them, even despair at some of the things they do or say. But their good humor will cheer along the days and enliven every encounter of yours.
    - Wise and honest friend. This person maybe different to all the above - they may not know you very well and they may never be close to you but they can be trusted to tell you the truth, however painful and to attach to it some advice tailored for you and given in friendship.
    What sort of friend you are and who you want to be to your friends? One of the great joys of friendship is knowing that someone else loves having you as their friend because you are true and giving. Its really is the most warming feeling in the world to be needed by someone you care about.
    A good read for life.
