    My bucket list

I was tagged by Yanti on her blog to create my bucket list.

”Simply state any number of goals you want to achieve in the next 8-10 years. Let them be small goals, big goals, silly goals. It is always nice to think about a bucket list, write it down, and share it. But most importantly, tag others to do the same when you are done and link back to the person who tagged you.”

I did get very carried away but managed to list the few that I really want to do in the next 10 years.

    1. Year / Get into a healthy and fit lifestyle

    2. Year / Get my driving license by Oct 09

    3. Years / Drive a yellow beetle with the no plate "JINI'S"

    4. Years / Get my Psychology degree

    5. Years / Surf the waves of the Pacific

    6. Years / Learn a Latin dance.

    7. Years / Learn and blog in french

    8. Years / Hand gliding (this is huge as I am not a heights person)

    9. Years / Get a boat license

    10. Years / Build our very own house

    11. Years / Give a restful retirement for parents

    12. Years / Cover all states (drive or fly) of Australia and make my very own video of "Discover Australia!"

    13. Years / Travel to Venice and drink wine on the gondola with my hubby

    14. Years / Climb a famous mountain and watch the sunrise (for this I will need to train way way, way before)

    15. Years beyond / To remember and to keep in touch with all loved ones, family and friends in Singapore and to build many more new friends here.

This is my bucket list. This is fun! You should do one too. Hope that I will be able to do all this stuff and create another and do everything on it, before I kick the bucket one day. Haha.

    Your last words...

There has been something playing in my mind these days. I go to sleep thinking of it and wake up with it. So I better blog about it to make it rest.

Yes it is the Mumbai attacks. Of course it has affected so many people around the world like me. Like all terrorists attacks it will take awhile to feel secured again I guess. It definitely brought so many emotions in people who are still human.

It made me think of what was in the victim's mind just before being shot, just before being faced with the terrorists. They must be just going about their life, simply thinking of things that we also think about. Rushing to get home, banking, need to get dinner, irritated with a loved one for some reason, getting that very important business client or proposal, to break up or not break with lover or spouse, how to save up to buy that car or house etc.

But after that second of being faced with fear that your life is going to end, being shot randomly, for no reason you realise that all your thoughts or worries are not that important after all.

I know this is not a nice discussion topic but given a choice how will a person like to exit this life? At home, peacefully, filled with thoughts that we are being loved.

I got reminded of reading something in the book "7 habits of highly effective people". I remember very well as it affected me a lot when I read it. Imagine you are attending a service. You see all of your family, friends and relatives attending it too. Some are in tears while others seemed to be solemnly strained. You take a place in the front row. The first speaker is your spouse. He starts off talking about you and him. Yes, you are attending your memorial service. The next speaker is your sibling or your good friend. The chapter then goes on to make you think on what you would like these people to feel about you when you are not around anymore and make that a goal to achieve right now when you are still around.

If that phone call unknowingly is the last call to/from your loved ones what will be your last words to them? Have you said enough that you do love them till your last breath? Have you appreciated everything that they did for you, even though it is not in a way that you wanted?

We get caught up in life's simple issues so much that we miss out on living. Taking a breath itself is an everyday gift from God that we must show our appreciation to right?

The scary part is that people who have no right to end human lives have existed in all times and will continue to exist anyway. And we can't do anything about that, no matter who we are. Living life to the fullest is what we can only do now.

I pray for all the souls killed in the Mumbai terror attacks to rest in peace and may the love for human kind reach the cold cold hearts out there.
